February editorials are a colorful splash of checked backgrounds matching sharply with the styling -sometimes plain, sometimes patterned or embellished-.
It automatically brings me back to Yves Saint Laurent’s documentary –L’amour fou– and to his very interesting collection in the mid 60’s, where geometry and bold primary colors made a scene.
I guess it is not casual that, being SS14 so full of artistic inspiration, editors and stylists are recurring to the same source as Yves’: the grid-based paintings by Piet Mondrian in the 20’s.
