This is a question that has been popping up in my head ever since I saw these two pictures of Miley Cyrus and Rihanna with some Chanel suspenders. I remembered I panicked a bit, like, oh my gosh, is this gonna happen? Will suspenders become an accessory we won’t be able to live without?
It ultimately has become the Fashion Week’s outfit go-to piece. Wearing suspenders is kirky, feels different and -therefore- becomes a photogenic phenomenon. It’s just like baby pink velvet bermudas (…), to name a quick example.
But suspenders can become even weirder if you don’t control how you style them. It’s not OK to pretend like you come from an era when you were a woman trying to fake you were a man and hiding from the government while escaping from your own country. Sounds like a drama, but just do a quick Pinterest search about it and you’ll see what I mean. It’s called vintage. And not everybody can do vintage.
Meanwhile, have a look at the following pictures: these girls DO IT GOOD, each of them with a very personal flare. Some pics are a bit oh-so-2012, but hey, trends are not established overnight…
