My favourite colour had always been blue up until the moment I met my best friend Nira in 2005. Then I found out that chromotherapy worked on me with a very strong power and that every single hue of pink could change my mood drastically. Even more than blue. So my favourite colour started being pink.
I think I have been conditioned by my mum regarding blue. I remember she always insisted on me dressing up like a boy, wearing blue jeans, dark-blue leggins, sailor clothes… Everything she would buy was blue and she would make it look like a statement wherever she’d go. Like: “hey, what’s Yazmina’s fav colour?”, “Oh, it’s blue! Don’t you see? She’s always dressed in blue! She loves it”, my mum would have said. However I felt super guilty when I told my mum blue wasn’t my favourite colour any more.
So it’s not weird that I have become so attracted by two particular tonalities of blue when watching Spring Summer runways. Haven’t you noticed them? They are so obvious that they may hurt your eyes!
They look like Twitter blue. Oh, no, wait! It’s like Skype blue. Oh, no, nonono… It’s Word and iTunes blue! YES! Have a look:
(Hey, I’ve got an email!)
But anyway. Who’s pretending us to wear these two colours in Spring Summer? From Osman, Stella McCartney, David Koma and Jonathan Saunders to Elie Saab, Gucci, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Cacharel, Alexis Mabille and No.21. You’ll easily recognize it in the following pictures.
But what do you think? Will it be a hot trend or will it be a “trick or trend”?
