Detuning Gucci SS13 Womenswear Collection

Gucci SS13 Collection by Valerio Mezzanotti

Just watched Gucci‘s Fashion Show for SS13 Collection on live stream. It was so neat, yet perfectly optimistic and colourful. Bold colours, as well as corals, pinks, turquoises and limes seem to be the IT tonalities but always keeping in mind the evergreens Black and White. Well, now that I mention this, it totally reminds me to the predominant colours of SS12.
The collection has two lines: long and short, both of them completely architectonic with a small touch of exoticism. Volants are everywhere and seem to dance with the body silhouette as if it was a beautiful underwater plant.
The animal element seems very important in this collection, where you can see from feline animalier coloured prints to reptile skins. The way these are combined with black is just remarkably elegant and feminine.
Another thing that caught my attention was the use of the coulise et volants sleeves that we also get to see in Acne’s collection. Not that I am comparing these two monsters that have nothing in common, but hey, the trend is clear.
Super extreme V-Necklines and squared cutout and v-shaped backs are so sexy in this collection. Not forgetting the use of turtle necklines, one-shoulders dresses and high waisted lines. These, together with the long slash in the back of the dresses, give the show a strong sense of woman power.
My absolutely favourite thing across the whole collection is the lime trench coat. So gorgeous.

I am living you the link to Gucci Connect so you can watch the Show. However, I’ll be loading the pictures as soon as I have them.

I loved it. I am normally not that fan who would take more than five items from collection but I loved it. (And I never considered myself as a Gucci fan on the top list in fashion, either).
Recently just posted about my visit to their showroom when SS collection was brought there right after the catwalk.
